BLUEBELL
(Bluebell is currently unavailable for hire)
Perhaps the quirkiest and most charming workspace at Robertsons Boatyard is Bluebell, a sturdy little craft with a double-planked mahogany hull built around seventy years ago.
Painstakingly restored by the team at the boatyard after twenty years of neglect, Bluebell has now been transformed into a unique office space with enough room for two people. In the summer, her doors open up onto the deck to views of the river.
With a wood-panelled interior and brightly painted exterior, this delightful little boat is a charming and cosy workspace with a stunning view over the Deben, just waiting to be discovered.
In the normal course of events, Bluebell, like many other redundant vessels, would eventually have rotted and sunk. As she was never going to be fit to return to the water, we wanted to find a way to breathe new life into her whilst simultaneously honing the boat restoration skills of the yard. She is now a land-based craft providing a unique environment for working or relaxation.
